Today we started our novel studies. The grade 7's are reading, "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" and the Grade 8's are reading, "The Giver". We will be reading, discussing and answering questions about these books in class.

Tomorrow is meet the teacher night and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone :) Please drop by, we are in room 115!

Math: We worked from the text books today.
**Grade 7: page 7 #1,2 and page 8 # 3,5,7. Most of the grade 7 math focuses on mental math...finding friendly numbers within our numbers to make the operation easier to do in our heads. It is ok,to double check with a calculator, but please try doing the work  in your head first.
**Grade 8: page 6 #1,2,3 ; page 7 question #7 and page 8, question #8. the Grade 8 math looks at exponents and writing numbers as the power of.

Don't forget:
1) Weekly writing is due on Friday
2) Zines are due on Monday. We work on them all week and they are looking great!
3) $7.00 for agendas
4) Student Information Forms need to be checked over, corrected if needed, and returned.
