Welcome Back! I hope you all had a restful break. I sure did, it was great to spend 2 weeks with my family :)

The Speeches, which were discussed and loosely assigned before the break, are now a focus in our room. Class speeches are due on Friday, January 17th, with our school competition running on Monday, January 20th.

Today in class we started a new unit in math: order of operations and we created an insert for our math journal.

In Language, we read a story about laptops in education. The assignment was to write an essay ( minimum 4 paragrahs ) that strongly explaines your stance as to whether or not all students in Ontario or Canada should recieve a laptop from the government for their own school use. It was expected that this essay be completed in class today...although the students were very distracted by their overwhelming happiness of being back in school, that most of them did not get a good start on this assignment. Please finish this tonight, and keep in mind that I am not looking for pretty, typed work, but rather I am looking to see how you defend your stance.
