Mrs. Stefuroczki's class have their science projects due next week. This project was done entirely in class, and after the presentations there will be a break from science until after the new year. Presentations of the science projects for my class will be the first week of December ( please don't worry that you didn't see any of this project at home, all components were completed in class.)
Today I would like to ask that you please work on reflex math!!!! we had a visitor form the board office. Mrs. Faux came in to talk to the class about the benefits of using the ministry site, Homework Help, to our class. Please find the link to the site in our homework help section at the bottom of the blog.

As well, we started out school campaign for the Denise House. Denise House is a women’s shelter located in Oshawa and it serves the women and children of the Durham region. Hopefully none of us will ever have to use the shelter or know of people who do, but unfortunately domestic abuse is a reality in our society. Denise House offers women and their children a safe haven to go to when they are trying to leave abusive situations. During the Advent season our grade 7 class will be running a collection drive for this shelter. We are not asking for any money, but rather for personal hygiene items (such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, razors, soap, shampoo etc. ) and hats & gloves that the women and children often leave behind or forget when they are fleeing their situation. These items can be purchased at the local dollar store, and we are even grateful to accept the travel/sample sizes that you receive in the mail and often from your dental visits.
We will be starting the collection drive on Monday, November 25th and will be concluding on Monday, December 16th so that we will have plenty of time to deliver the donations to the facility.
We thank you for your support with this initiative because with one item at a time we are making the Christmas Season for some people a little brighter!
Thank you,
Mrs. Asselin
